Lincoln Police say a man faces charges including accusations of ramming a skid loader into a police cruiser with an officer inside the cruiser and vandalizing other vehicles.
Investigators say the officer, who was not hurt, got out of his vehicle and drew his service weapon.
He did not fire the weapon as the suspect followed orders and was taken into custody.
Police say 36-year-old Samuel Peyrot of Lincoln is booked for second-degree assault on an officer, second-degree assault, and criminal mischief.
Police say a number of vehicles were damaged, and one man inside a damaged truck had minor injuries.
Detectives say the suspect also damaged the outside of two nearby businesses with the machine.
Police confirm the skid loader is owned by Peyrot's employer, and he took it to a service station with a company-owned truck and trailer.
