Iowa Airports To Share $15 Million In Federal Funding

(Undated) -- Twenty Iowa airports will share $15 (M) million dollars in federal funding. U-S Senator Chuck Grassley says the funds are to be used for modernizing aging infrastructure. The four largest grants will go to Des Moines, Dubuque, Sioux City, and Fort Dodge airports.

The Des Moines International Airport will receive $5 million toward construction of a new terminal.

The Dubuque Regional Airport will receive more than $2 million to rebuild a transient parking apron.

Sioux Gateway will get more than $1 million to reconstruction tax lane pavement and acquire equipment to keep the airport serviceable during snow periods.

The Fort Dodge Regional Airport will get more than $800,000 for the construction of a new hanger.

Ames Municipal: $240,000

Boone Municipal: $448,000

Arther Neu Airport (Carroll County): $80,000

Schenck Field (Page County)

Clinton Municipal: $79,000

Decorah Municipal: $448,000

Denison Municipal: $330,000

Esterville Municipal: $360,000

Fort Madison Municipal: $250,000

Grinnell Regional: $324,000

Iowa City Municipal: $442,800

Marshalltown Municipal: $448,000

Sioux City Regional: $123,118

Oskaloosa Municipal: $400,000

Perry Municipal: $360,000

The US Department of Transportation will administer the awards thru its Airport Infrastructure Grants program.

"Iowa's airports move goods to market and help get people where they need to go. Keeping this critical infrastructure in top shape will strengthen Iowan's economy and ensure Iowans' safety when they travel," said Senator Chuck Grassley. "I'm glad to see this significant investment put to good use in our communities."
