(Iowa City, IA) -- The Eastern Iowa Chapter of the Asian and Pacific Islander Americans Public Affairs Association (APAPA) is hosting the 2024 Lunar New Year Gala.
The celebration will be held Sunday, February 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City located at 221 E. Washington Street.
Activities at the Gala include music and dance performances ranging from traditional Chinese fan performances, to modern K-pop dance featuring elements of Asian culture.
There will also be awards, the Iowa City Human Rights Commission has been awarded "Excellent in Diversity" by APAPA.
The symbol of the Jasmine flower and the dragon descendants are a few of the many themes of the event.
Tickets are on sale now at The Englert box office and on their website, $10 for adults and $8 for seniors.
There is no charge for youth or students.
