(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A Cedar Rapids man is facing multiple charges after a weekend bomb scare.
Police say 44 year-old Dennis Spratte, Jr. is being charged with possession of explosive devices. Officers responded to reports of a suspicious device in the 1900 block of Western Drvice SW. Police say the device turned out to be an improvised explosive device left next to a burning cigarette. Investigators found fingerprints on the device, which led them to identify Spratte as the suspect.
After getting a warrant to search his residence, police found more homemade explosive devices in his home.
He was taken into custody, charged, then released on bond.
