It's official. Cedar Rapids has a new chief of police. City Council unanimously approved the selection of 33 year CRPD veteran David Dostal to serve in the role yesterday afternoon.
New Police Chief David Dostal tells Iowa's News Now he'll soak in the moment on day one, then meet with senior staff to plan what's next for the CRPD.
Dostal was one of 17 candidates who applied for the position. He replaces Wayne Jerman who aged out of the position last August.
