(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department is investigating after a man was injured in a drive-by shooting today.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at the 4100 block of 9th street early this afternoon, where they say the victim reported his injuries were self-inflicted.
He later told police it was the result of a drive-by shooting.
Drivers in the area can expect an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.
