(Undated) -- A six-year-old child, missing from Ames since last October, has been found safe out of state. Ames Police say Avery Doherty's mother unlawfully took the child last October. Forty-one-year-old Esther Bender is now charged with violating a custodial order. She and the child were found on Peaks Island, off the coast of Portland, Maine.
