(Geneseo, IL) -- A Quad Cities area detective is being recognized for her work in the community.
Geneseo Police Department Detective Jamie Shoemaker is being named the 2024 Female Officer of the Year by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Executive Institute (ILETSB).
Detective Shoemaker was handpicked by an esteemed 6-member state-wide committee, particularly for her advocacy for mental health and crisis awareness.
Detective Shoemaker has a decade of experience in law enforcement with three years of service in Geneseo.
She'll be presented the award in April at the 2024 Women in Criminal Justice Conference.
