(DeWitt, IA) -- A former Iowa teacher is headed to jail after pleading guilty to three counts of sexual exploitation.
Prosecutors say Cody LaKose groomed an underage female student for a sexual relationship at Central DeWitt High in 2017.
She reported the relationship in 2022, telling police she was concerned he may prey on other students at his then new teaching position at Regina Catholic School in Iowa City.
LaKose received a 45-day sentence and will have to register as a sex offender.
