(Iowa City, IA) -- No other women's basketball player at the University of Iowa, will wear #22, Caitlin Clark's jersey. Iowa Athletic Director Beth Goetz announced that during a celebration for the team last (Wednesday) night at Carver Hawkeye Arena.
Thousands of cheering Hawkeye fans gathered to celebrate the team's success during the 2023-2024 year, which included a Big Ten championship and a deep run into the NCAA Women's tourney. The Iowa women made it to the national championship game for the second year in a row.
Clark, a West Des Moines native, broke multiple scoring and assist records during the season and won her sport's highest honors and awards. Games featuring Clark also drew historically large crowds and record broadcast ratings.
Clark is expected to be the number one draft pick for the WNBA, Monday, April 15th.
The first pick goes to the Indiana Fever. The team has announced 36 of its 40 regular games will be broadcast on television. The season runs May 14th thru mid-September.

The first four games of the Fever regular season schedule will appear on ABC, ESPN or Prime Video platforms.
