(Lincoln, NE) -- This week's U.S. Drought Monitor compiled by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, shows little change in Nebraska's drought picture. The eastern Third remains either abnormally dry, or in moderate-to-severe drought. There are also three counties in southwest Nebraska that are abnormally dry.
This week's report does include rainfall this week. Many parts of eastern Nebraska recorded up to an inch of rain during storms this week.
The National Weather Service predicts more showers next Thursday and scattered Thunderstorms next Friday.
Nearly all of Iowa remains in drought or near drought, although recent rains have shown some improvement. Southwest Iowa remains in moderate drought.
