(Bettendorf, IA) -- Frustrated educators and parents spoke out last night about the latest offer made to teachers by the Bettendorf School Board.
Bettendorf Paraeducator Sarah Schenk says the school district needs to offer salaries and benefits comparable to other districts in the region if they want to attract and retain quality teachers.
The board is offering a $350 pay increase, but a 5% increase in health insurance premiums.
Critics say the deal doesn't keep Bettendorf competitive with other area school districts.
The current contract expires in June.
