(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The verdict hearing is scheduled in the murder trial of Curtis Padgett.
A Linn County judge will issue a verdict on May 3rd. Padgett asked for a bench trial. He's accused of first-degree murder in the death of Dennis First, who was found dead in May of 2007 in Cedar Rapids. The case had gone cold, but investigators eventually followed leads that led to Padgett being identified as a suspect.
He's also linked to a missing person's case from 2001 in the disappearance of 15 year-old Erin Pospisil.
