(Omaha, NE) -- Damage reports are coming in after severe weather this (Friday) afternoon. The National Weather Service issued multiple tornado watches and warnings, storms also dumped heavy rain and hail up to 2 inches in diameter in some locations.
The NWS issued a flash flood warning at one point for Douglas County, NE and Pottawattamie County, IA, due to 1-2 inches of rain that fell during the storms.
*The National Weather Service says there was a confirmed tornado over Eppley Airfield, with damage reported at the airport.
*There's also considerable damage in Elkhorn with a number of houses damaged or destroyed.
*Damage--and at least one injury--also reported in the Blair area--in Washington County.
*Police are going door-to-door in surrounding neighborhoods.
*In addition to the tornadoes, there are also reports of large hail across the metro--golf ball sized in Omaha, and Pottawattamie County near Carter Lake.
*The same storm system also spawned a number of tornadoes in Lancaster County, with three people hurt when a tornado hit an industrial building between Lincoln and Waverly. At least 70 were trapped in that building at one point.
OPPD is reporting more than 10,000 power outages as of 5 p.m. The bulk of those are in Douglas County.
