Des Moines Police have rescued three victims and made an arrest in a months-long human trafficking investigation.

42-year old Huirong Zhou was booked into the Polk County Jail on three felony counts of human trafficking.

Police say they began investigating suspicious activity at a massage parlor on the 800 block of Hull Avenue back in January of this year.

When they searched the parlor Wednesday, they found evidence of forced labor, commercial sexual activity, and seized more than $80,000.

Polk County Victim Services is now helping the victims with safe housing and other support and recovery services.
