Deceased Man Found in Missouri River Last Resided in Sioux City

(Omaha, NE) -- The body of a 43-year old-man found this week in the Missouri River is identified as that of Julio Alberto Estrada-Aguirre. Investigators say he was last a resident of Sioux City, Iowa. The Douglas County Sheriff's office says they notified family members, who are living outside of the U.S., before releasing the man's identity. A cause of death has not been announced.

The Sheriff's Office further said in a statement that Estrada-Aguirre had a reported history of substance abuse (methamphetamine) along with recently suffering from mental health problems. DCSO further states he had a criminal history, serving a two-year prison sentence in Iowa for Burglary in 2011.
