(Lincoln, NE) -- A Lincoln man accused of throwing fish and carrots in a government building and causing almost $9,000 in damages is under arrest.

Lincoln Police say Joseph Schrader walked into the Department of Motor Vehicles office at around 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, and said there was something fishy going on.

Police say he then started throwing carrots and fish around the building, damaging the carpet and ceiling tiles.

The DMV location on Cattle Drive had just opened a few hours prior that day.

Schrader is facing a charge of criminal mischief with over $5,000 in damages.
