Severe Weather Expected In Omaha/Council Bluffs Area

Forecasters at the Omaha National Weather Service Office in Valley say strong to severe thunderstorms are expected across much of the Omaha/Council Bluffs/Lincoln region Monday from late afternoon into the overnight hours.

The main threats include large hail, damaging winds, flash flooding, and possibly a few tornadoes.

They say another round of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible late Tuesday morning through early afternoon, with the greatest threat in that round at this time appearing to be large hail, some of which could be greater than 2 inches in diameter.

Severe wind gusts, tornadoes, and flash flooding will all be possible as well.

There will be additional chances for thunderstorms beginning Thursday afternoon and heading into the weekend.
