(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa City's parking rates are going up for the first time in a decade.
The Iowa City Council approved the increase that will go into effect on July 1st. Ramp parking will cost $2, up from $1. Parking on a meter in the Central Business District will double in cost, from $1.50 to $3. Parking in outlying areas will cost $1.50.
