Multiple Agencies Investigate Friday Shooting in Battle Creek

(Battle Creek, IA) -- The Ida County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting of a 53-year old man in Battle Creek late Friday morning. The Sheriff's Office says the man was found suffering from a single gunshot wound by deputies in the 300 block of 5th Street, and then flown to a hospital in Sioux City. His condition was not further reported. The case remains under investigation, however, the Sheriff's Office says there is no ongoing threat to the public.

According to a press release, the Ida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation; the Iowa State Patrol; the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office; the Monona County Sheriff’s Office; the Battle Creek Ambulance; Ida Grove ambulance and Ida County EMS.
