(Des Moines, IA) -- At least 16 tornadoes are now confirmed in Friday's Derecho storm.
The National Weather Service says the storm traveled st least 240 miles from Nebraska across Iowa, maintaining 60 to 70 mile an hour winds.

Iowa has now had at least 82 tornadoes so far this year, with a couple months left in the tornado season. A normal year has 50.
