(Des Moines, IA) -- One person has been arrested following a fatal crash Sunday morning.
23-year-old Andi Gael Cardenas is being charged with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident, along with multiple misdemeanor traffic offenses.
Police say Cardenas was involved in a property damage-only hit and run in the 1000 block of SE Army Post Road before running a red light and striking a vehicle at SE 5th and Porter Ave.
Cardenas then lost control of the vehicle and hit a 51-year-old male, who died at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate any further possible causes.
