Cedar Rapids Officials Explore All Options To Replace Hy-Vee

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The city of Cedar Rapids is exploring every alternative to replace the First Avenue Hy-Vee store that's closing later this month.

That includes turning to a not-for-profit like Matthew:25 that has operated a grocery store as part of Groundswell on 3rd Avenue SW.

Mayor Tiffany O'Donnell told the Faith First podcast that city staff are also looking to replace the pharmacy being lost in the Wellington Heights and Mound View neighborhoods when HyVee closes June 23rd.
