The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports the death of an inmate.
They say 71-year old Michael Prim died over the weekend at a Lincoln hospital.
He was being held at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.
Corrections says Prim’s sentence began in July of 1977: A life sentence in a case out of Douglas County for first degree murder committed during a robbery.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Prim was being treated for a medical condition.
As is the case whenever a person dies in custody or while being taken into custody in Nebraska, a grand jury will investigate.
