Earlier this year, the Legislature approved, and the Governor signed, LB1169, which made the Nebraska State Historical Society what's known as a code agency.
That means the director is appointed by the Governor and subject to legislative approval;
Governor Jim Pillen is now accepting applications for director of the Nebraska State Historical Society.
Applications may be submitted through the Governor’s website at: governor.nebraska.gov/board-comm-req
Submissions may also be sent in writing to: Office of the Governor, P.O. Box 94848, Lincoln, NE 68509-4848.
The deadline to apply is close of business, Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024.
