(Dubuque, IA) -- A black bear has wandered into the Dubuque area. These photos were posted on social media by Clarke University. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says it's rare, but not unusual for a black bear to make an appearance in Iowa. The DNR says one-to-five black bears may wander into northeast Iowa from Wisconsin or Minnesota each spring.
The DNR says bears are looking for food, and may go for bird feeders, trash, grills, pet food, and garbage.
