(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa City woman arrested after her three-year-old son found walking with a loaded handgun. The mother was charged on Monday following the arrest.
A criminal complaint was filed Friday, June 14, by a nearby resident who took the gun from the child and brought him to his home. The mother says she was cleaning and didn't realize her child had wandered off. She also admitted to owning the handgun and storing it on her nightstand.
The mother is now charged with Making Firearms Available to a Minor and Child Endangerment.
