(Sac County, IA) -- The death of Iowa trucker who had been missing for several months, is ruled as NOT a homicide by the state medical examiner.

53-year-old David Schultz of Wall Lake was reported missing November 21st, after he didn't return from picking up a load of hogs in Eagle Grove.

Iowa's News Now reports a preliminary autopsy done earlier this year showed no signs of trauma, and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation found no foul play suspected.

His body was found in April not far from where his truck was found.

Volunteers had searched over 100,000 acres of land for him over the months, but did not look in the field where he was eventually found because a volunteer search leader had told a Sioux City TV station that they had been told the area had already been searched.

A funeral for Schultz took place in May.
