(West Des Moines, IA) -- Nine people are hospitalized following a head on collision with a daycare van and a semi truck on Wednesday. Police say the van was driving northbound on 88th street and veered into southbound lanes, causing the crash around 2 pm. They say the wreck caused the semi to leak diesel fuel, but they believe the fuel did not do further damage. They say seven of the nine hospitalized are children. No life-threatening injuries have been reported.
