(Iowa City, IA) -- A University of Iowa alum is the toast of Broadway.
David Adjmi's [[ ADJ-mee ]] play Stereophonic won five Tony Awards Sunday, including Best Play.
The show was nominated for a record thirteen awards in ten categories.
Stereophonic chronicles a mid-1970s rock band on the brink of stardom as they record a new album.
The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will present Adjmi’s play Marie Antoinette in October.
