(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Urban fishermen have been plagued by chemicals from several water main breaks flowing into McLoud Run in recent years, killing thousands of fish. The city of Cedar Rapids is preparing a fix to catch breaks and leaks before they harm the environment.

Roy Hesemann, Cedar Rapids Utilities Director tells Iowa's News Now "we're going to by buying 10 to 12 pressure sensors that will actually go into the fire hydrants that are already there, and they will continually monitor the pressure in that system."

McLoud Run is Iowa’s only urban trout stream.
