(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Substantial rain that fell to the north and west over the weekend will cause flooding on area rivers over the coming week.

The Cedar River in Cedar Rapids is expected to hit minor flood stage of 12-feet early Thursday, and crest at moderate stage of 14-feet early Friday morning.

Justin Schultz, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service says those numbers don't take into account rain that is forecast to fall throughout Tuesday.
