Douglas County Health Department Reports First Case of West Nile Virus

(Omaha, NE) -- The Douglas County Health Department is confirming the first case of West Nile Virus this year. They say a blood donor has tested positive. Officials with the health department also say the first positive mosquito sampling of the year came back. The sampling was taken near 11th and Grace streets. Last year, 11 cases were confirmed. The record is 71, set in 2018.
