Omaha Public Power District and MidAmerican Energy crews in the Omaha/Council Bluffs region are making progress after the storms left thousands without electricity, with heavy tree damage reported,
After a rare closure because of high thunderstorm winds, Omaha Eppley Airfield resumed flight operations after being closed for a time overnight for what was called a "damage assessment."
They wanted to make sure runways, taxiways, and ramp areas were clear of debris.
The Omaha Airport Authority on social media says passengers should of course check on the status of flights with individual airlines. and allow even more time just getting to the airport with streets and highways being affected by the storms and flooding in the region.
