(Davenport, IA) -- Two major Quad Cities event are being disrupted due to rising floodwaters on the Mississippi River.

Organizers of the Red, White & Boom fireworks event scheduled for July 3rd are postponing to an alternate date yet to be decided.

Meanwhile, organizers of The Bix@6 training runs are moving the starting line for the Thursday event to 5th and Pershing Streets as the city of Davenport closes parts of River Drive.

In Rock Island, the city is closing floodgates and installing pumps downtown, and suspending fuel service at Sunset Marina in anticipation of the Mississippi hitting major flood stage next week.
