(East Moline, IL) -- More jobs losses are coming to John Deere.

A representative with UAW Local 865 is now confirming that John Deere will be handing layoff notices to Deere Harvester Works employees in the Quad Cities today.

279 workers will be laid off on August 30th.

That brings the total number of layoffs at Deere to over 1,000 this year.

The ag equipment manufacturer announced earlier this month that they'll move skid loader manufacturing from Dubuque to Mexico in 2026.

Deere says they need to adjust production as a drop in crop prices is causing farmers to buy less equipment.
