Two Dead in Separate Weekend Road Incidents in Omaha

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Police are investigating two separate road fatalities on Saturday. At just after 1:30 a.m., a teenage passenger was reported as being thrown from the roof of a 2011 Chevy Equinox being driven northbound on Florence Boulevard in north Omaha. Charges are pending for the teenage driver.

Police are also investigating a fatal hit and run accident on northbound N 24th Street, where a pedestrian was struck while crossing the road. Police say it happened at just after 3:30 a.m. The pedestrian has been identified as 19-year-old Danayjha Britt, who was taken to Nebraska Medical Center where she later died.
