(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids is starting to issue tickets from automated traffic cameras again.

The city submitted an application to the Iowa Department of Transportation explaining why the cameras were needed. That's a requirement of a new Iowa law.

The threshold for a traffic camera ticket is now 11mph over the speed limit.

Fines start at $75 and go as high as $500.
