Polk County Receives a Million Dollars in National Opioid Settlement

(Des Moines, IA) -- Polk County will receive one million dollars as part of a national settlement on opioids. The county says they are allowed to use the money to fund prevention, treatment and recovery programs. The funds will be distrubted to five local organtizations over the next two years. Those include Bridges of Iowa, Full Circle Recovery, Primary Health Care, St. Vincent de Paul and UCS Healthcare.
