(Davenport, IA) -- The Mississippi River crested at the Quad Cities this morning and may stay that way for a while.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service say the 20-foot crest of the Mississippi River at Lock and Dam 15 may remain until Friday morning before slowly receding.
That's assuming no more significant rain falls upstream before then.
For now, the river is expected to remain above major flood stage of 18-feet through at least July 20th.
