(Des Moines, IA) -- Drake University is filing a lawsuit against Des Moines Area Community College for trademark infringement.

Drake filed the lawsuit in federal court Monday, which claims that DMACC's new logo contains elements of Drake's decades-old brand identity, including text and color scheme. DMACC's new logo includes a single "D" in block lettering, which Drake's lawsuit argues is similar to the logo the university has had as early as 1902.
