Jury Finds Kyle Ricke Guilty of Killing Algona Police Officer

(Iowa) -- A jury finds Kyle Ricke guilty of killing Algona Police Officer Kevin Cram.

The trial began on Monday, and jury deliberation began following closing arguments Thursday. The jury reached a verdict shortly before noon. Ricke is convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Officer Kevin Cram as he was serving an arrest warrant in September of last year.

A sentencing date has not yet been set. In Iowa, a first-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
