Heat Advisory In Effect For Over Half Of Iowa

(Iowa) -- A heat advisory is in effect for over half of Iowa today, starting at 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service says the head index values could reach 105 for portions of central, north central, northwest, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Iowa.

They say hot and humid temperatures will continue or worsen over much of the area on tomorrow and Monday, July 15.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
