(Davenport, IA) -- No immunity from prosecution for the city, or current and former employees.

That was the decision handed down late last week by the Iowa Supreme Court in connection with lawsuits over the collapse of a Davenport apartment building in May of last year.

The city, and two employees named as defendants in several lawsuits sought immunity, saying Iowa law didn't clearly express the level of responsibility they may bear as part of their job.

Three men lost their lives when The Davenport apartment building on Main Street partially collapsed in May 2023.
