(Moline, IL) -- John Deere is distancing itself from diversity and inclusion.

In a social media post, the agricultural equipment manufacturer says they won't participate in cultural awareness events, are removing socially-motivated messages from company materials, and affirming diversity quotas and pronoun identification are not company policy.

Last week, a conservative political commentator claimed online that Deere's diversity and inclusion policies were hurting its business.

John Deere has laid off over 1,500 production workers this year, and plans to layoff some salaried employees next week.
