Two Omaha Apartment Fires Investigated

Omaha Fire Investigators look for the causes of two separate fires in apartment buildings.

Early Tuesday morning, Omaha firefighters were dispatched to 45th and Lafayette Avenue where they found a small fire in a 12-unit apartment building utilities room.

OFD says the fire was quickly brought under control, with no injuries, but a number of residents were displaced.

A building manager was on scene to assist.

Omaha Fire is also investigating a Monday evening fire in a residential structure near 15th and Vinton Streets.

A first floor resident opened a door to find smoke in an apartment unit.

Firefighters quickly found and put out the fire, with no injuries reported.
