(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines city leaders are considering changing an ordinance that may impact backyard flocks due to noise complaints.

The City Council is discussing limiting the number of chickens and roosters a homeowner can have.

A Des Moines councilwoman stated that the change is necessary as residents are disturbed by the noise.

Citizens can share their opinions on the proposed ordinance at a council meeting on Aug. 5 at Des Moines City Hall.
