John Deere Announces More Production Layoffs

(Moline, IL) -- Still more employees are being added to the nearly 2,000 already laid off by John Deere this year.

One-hundred and thirty-four production workers at John Deere's Seeding and Cylinder operations in Moline will be laid off beginning next month.

Forty-three workers on August 14th. Fifty-five more August 30th. And another 36 on October 4th.

That's on top of the over 600 production workers scheduled to be laid off in Davenport, East Moline, and Dubuque on August 30th.

One-hundred and seventy salaried employees in Waterloo, Johnston, and Dubuque lost their jobs last week.
