(Linn County, IA) -- A motorcyclist is in the hospital after hitting a deer Monday evening in Linn County.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office is identifying the motorcyclist as 27 year-old Scott Atherton of Alburnett. Investigators says emergency crews responded to reports of the crash around 9 o'clock Monday night. Alburnett was thrown from his motorcycle when he hit the deer. He was wearing a helmet.
He was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
