Nebraska Arbor Day Tornado Strength Rates Higher

The tornado that hit the Omaha Metro area April 26th causing heavy damage and destruction was more potent than originally thought.

The National Weather Service now upgrades the tornado that moved through Elkhorn, Bennington, and Blair to an EF-4.

The weather service says the twister had estimated peak winds of 170 miles per hour and was on the ground for 31 miles.
